Snettisham, Norfolk

The Hideaway is a 2 bedroom bungalow which will accommodate 4 people. It is situated in rural Snettisham just 1 mile from the beach and several hundred yards from the RSPB reserve. It is located down a private road and has off road parking for 1 car.

There is a private garden so you can bring your dogs on holiday too.

Snettisham is located on the West coast of Norfolk along the wash between Sandringham and Heacham.

Snettisham beach is characterized by the huge expanses of sand at low-tide. The beach has an ample car park with access to shops, cafes and toilet facilities. There is also a sailing club on the beach.

At the Southern end of the beach is the Snettisham RSPB nature reserve, where once a month you can see the famous ‘Snettisham Spectacular’ as the rising water pushes thousands of wading birds off the mudflats.

There are also several inland lakes formed by disused gravel pits, some of which are part of the nature reserve, others forming part of the Snettisham sailing club.

The Norfolk coastline juts so far into the sea at this point that Snettisham actually faces west, making it one of the few places on Britain’s east coast where you can watch the sun set over the sea. The vast size of the Wash and the flatness of the landscape enhance this phenomenon and you often won’t see land beyond the sunset, even though Lincolnshire lies just 12 miles to the west.
